2007 NALRC NATIONAL SHOW
(May 5th, 2007)
Despite a nightmarish trip out to Ohio due to some last minute airlines difficulties, Cheryl and I had a wonderful time at Nationals.  The rabbits placed well, but even more than that, we had a great time visiting with old friends and making new ones.  The banquet was wonderful again this year.  Thank you to Dawn Guth for the planning of the banquet.  Our table kept us in stitches for the entire banquet.  Just a fun evening with friends.

PRIDELANDS KOKOMO won the 2007 Statler Award out of 18 entries.  This was an incredibly huge honor considering the depth of the classes that I saw on the table.  The breed has definitley come a LONG way from what we were showing even 3-4 years ago.  KOKOMO is a full sister (from the same litter) to PRIDELANDS ARUBA who won Best In Show at the 2006 NALRC National Show.  She's also a PRIDELANDS GUINESS daughter.  Our Statler entry out of GUINESS took 2nd place last year in the 2006 Statler Class.  GUINESS is a PRIDELANDS TABASCO son.   TABASCO won the first ever Statler Award in 2005.  We are extremely proud of how constantly this line has competed at the National show over the past 3 years.  Not only have they done well on the tables, but consistently prove the consistency of this line with their high placements in the Statler Class which is designed specifically to show consistency among the offspring of one animal.  Not only have our individual classes done well in each of the 3 years since the start of this award, but they've all been from this same line of rabbits.  Now THAT'S consistency.

PRIDELANDS also took BEST DISPLAY TORT VARIETY.  Each placement 1st through 5th is awarded point values.  Best Variety Display is awarded to the breeder with the most points in each variety.  The Tort classes were very large this year, so any placement in these classes was a huge accomplishment in itself.  The rabbits contributing to our Best Display Tort award were:  PRIDELANDS MEDALLION (1st Tort Jr Buck, BOSV), PRIDELANDS ASLAN (2nd Tort Jr Buck), PRIDELANDS MONTEGO (1st Tort Jr Doe), & PRIDELANDS HAIKU II (4th Tort Sr Doe).

OTHER PRIDELANDS PLACEMENTS AT THE 2007 NALRC NATIONAL SHOW:
PRIDELANDS MEDALLION - 1st place out of 39 Tort Jr Bucks

March 31st, 2007
A double Lionhead show was held in conjunction with the Washington State Holland Lop Specialty Show in Graham, WA.  PRIDELANDS BROADWAY took BOB and PRIDELANDS PATRIOT took BOSB under Cindy Wickizer in Show A. BOV Tort was PRIDELANDS HAIKU II and BOSV Tort was PRIDELANDS PATRIOT.  BOV Black was PRIDELANDS NADI.  PRIDELANDS JASMINE was BOV Fawn and PRIDELANDS BLUE BONNET was BOV Blue.  PRIDELANDS BROADWAY was BOV Siamese Sable and PRIDELANDS BRONX was BOSV.

PRIDELANDS NADI was BOB in Show B under judge Kevin Rudolph with PRIDELANDS HOT ROD taking BOSB.  PRIDELANDS HOT ROD was BOV Tort.  PRIDELANDS NADI was BOV Black, with PRIDELANDS ORTEGA taking BOSV Black.  PRIDELANDS JASMINE and PRIDELANDS BLUE BONNET repeated their BOV wins from the A Show and PRIDELANDS BRONX was BOSV to the Foley girl's lovely Siamese Sable doe.

March 10th, 2007
PRIDELANDS HAIKU II takes another BOB at the Evergreen Rabbit Breeders Show in Chehalis, WA.  Judge was Julie Sennes of Washington.  PRIDELANDS BRONX (now owned by Dan Young, IN) took BOSB honors.   PRIDELANDS PATRIOT takes his first BOB win in Show B under judge Troy Irhke who is a new judge to the Pacific NW.  He did a wonderful job with the Lionheads and was anxious to learn more about judging them.  PRIDLANDS BLACK GOLD and PRIDELANDS ORTEGA took BOV and BOSV honors for the Black Variety.   PRIDELANDS BRONX took BOSV and PRIDELANDS JASMINE and PRIDELANDS BLUE BONNET both took BOV wins.  This was a very fun show with a wonderful turnout of Lionhead breeders from both Washington and Oregon.  One thing I can say about Lionhead shows in the Pacific Northwest is that there is a wonderful sense of comradiery among the breeders which really makes the shows fun to attend!

February 18th, 2007
Kimijo Mareska of Arizona judged Lionheads on the second day.  She revealed that she was absolutely dreading judging them after how the breed has gone down hill in some areas of the country, but was pleasantly surprised and excited by what she saw on the table today.  Kimijo raised Lionheads for awhile, so she had a good idea of where the breed started and how far it has come which was really nice :)

PRIDELANDS HAIKU II (Tort Senior Doe) repeated her BOB win with PRIDELANDS HOT ROD (Tort Junior Buck) taking BOSB honors today.  PRIDELANDS CADENCE (Chestnut Senior Doe) took BOV Chestnut.  PRIDELANDS JASMINE (Fawn Junior Doe) took BOV Fawn.  PRIDELANDS NADI (Black Senior Doe) was BOV Black and PRIDELANDS BLUE CLOUD (Blue Junior Doe) was BOV Blue.  PRIDELANDS BROADWAY AND PRIDELANDS BRONX took BOV and BOSV again for the Siamese Sables.  All and all a nice showing for this fun show in Canada

February 17th, 2007
Cheryl and her husband, Steve, took the ferry up to British Columbia (Canada) last night for a double show in Victoria
this weekend.  It's always a fun show and it's really a great group of exhibitors up there.  She reports that she had a
wonderful time meeting and visiting with Wally Holden who is just getting started in Lionheads (about a year now).
PRIDELANDS HAIKU II (Tort Senior Doe) took BOB and PRIDELANDS PATRIOT (Tort Junior Buck) took
BOSB.  PRIDELANDS CADENCE (Chestnut Senior Doe) took BOV Chestnut and PRIDELANDS JASMINE
(Fawn Junior Doe) took another BOV Fawn.  PRIDELANDS NADI (Black Senior Doe) was BOV Black and
PRIDELANDS BLUE BONNET (Blue Junior Doe) was BOV Blue.  PRIDELANDS BROADWAY (Siamese Sable Junior Doe) took BOV Siamese Sable and her brother, PRIDELANDS BRONX, took BOSV.  Judge was Joe Lugo of California.

January 6th, 2007
Shows are going to be pretty skimpy for us for these first few months of 2007.  We've had several annual shows cancelled in the area for various reasons, so it's looking like only one double show for us in January and one in February.  Hopefully shows will pick up again in our area as we head into March and April.

Our first show of the season was a double exhibition show held in Kent, Washington. It was a good size show with 6 exhibitors and 35 rabbits entered.

Show A was judged by Mike Ritter (WA).  PRIDELANDS HOT ROD (Tort Junior Buck) took BOB and PRIDELANDS ENYA (Tort Junior Doe) took BOSB.  We also took BOV Chestnut with PRIDELANDS GENIE (Chestnut Junior Doe), BOV Fawn with PRIDELANDS JASMINE (Fawn Jr Doe) , BOSV Black with PRIDELANDS TUDOR (Black Senior Buck), BOV Sable Point with PRIDELANDS MANHATTAN (Sable Point Jr Doe), BOV Blue with PRIDELANDS BLUE ANGEL (Blue Junior Doe) and BOSV Blue with PRIDELANDS BLUE SUEDE (Blue Senior Buck).  Not bad for our first show of the season!

Show B was judged by Troy Ihrke (WA).  Congratulations to Anna Shannon (youth) who won BOB with her Black Sr Doe and to Nita Shannon who took BOSB with her REW Jr Buck.  Their dedication to this breed is evident in the progress they continue to make with their herd.  We did manage to take a few variety wins in this show as well.  PRIDELANDS GENIE (Chestnut Junior Doe) took BOV Chestnut and PRIDELANDS JASMINE (Fawn Junior Doe) took BOV Fawn.  PRIDELANDS BLUE SUEDE (Blue Senior Buck) earned another BOSV in the Blue variety and PRIDELANDS MANHATTAN (Sable Point Junior Doe) took BOV again.  In the Tort variety, PRIDELANDS ENYA (Tort Junior Doe) took BOV.

Our next show is not until February up in Victoria, British Columbia, but we are looking forward to this show as it's always a fun one.  Well worth the expense of the ferry ride and hassle of crossing the Canadian border!

December 16th, 2006
Well the 2006 show season is over for PrideLands.  So it's time for reflection on a season past and looking forward to the promise of the season to come.  We had a great year in 2006.  It will be hard to top, that's for sure.  Some of the most memorable wins include our Best of Breed win at the NALRC National Exhibition show with PRIDELANDS ARUBA and then the Best Opposite Sex of Breed win at the Ohio State Convention with PRIDELANDS PAPRIKA and also PRIDELANDS TYBANDI's win in Fort Worth at the 2006 ARBA Convention.  These were three very exciting wins for us at extremely large shows against some of the top breeders in the US.  We couldn't be prouder of how our show string did this year.  We continue to see improvement both in mane quality and body type in our Lionheads and hope to see that continue in 2007.

November 18th, 2006
PRIDELANDS KO-TEINI took Best of Breed at the WSHLRC A Show in Graham, Washington.  Emily and Willow Foley took Best of Breed in the B Show with a lovely Siamese Sable doe out of PrideLands Moselle and Bastet's Sidamo.  Hat Trick's Emmett took Best Opposite Sex of Breed in both shows.  A big thank you to Nikki Stetson of HatTrick Rabbitry in Pennsylvania, who sold us Emmett's mom (HatTrick's Phantom) bred to one of her best herd sires, DJ's Mocha.  Without her generosity we wouldn't have had Emmett.  He's a lovely buck!

November 1st, 2006
PRIDELANDS TYBANDI takes Best Opposite Sex of Breed
at the 2006 ARBA Convention in Fort Worth, Texas!
A HUGE congratulations goes out to Jeremy and Becky Armstrong who took Best of Breed with a lovely Tort Junior Doe, Mossy Possum's Genova.  There were a total of 89 Lionheads shown in the show in 6 of the 8 COD colors (only Blue and Fawn did not have rabbits shown).  TYBANDI is now residing with Gene Bellamy of Centennial Farms in Oklahoma.  We hope he produces as many winners for Gene as his daddy, Pridelands Tabasco, has produced for PRIDELANDS.

We are also very proud of how our other PRIDELANDS Lionheads placed at the Convention.  PRIDELANDS SUDOKU took 1st place Black Senior Doe.  PRIDELANDS HAVANA took 1st place Black Junior Doe and BOV Black.  PRIDELANDS MADRID took 2nd place Tort Senior Doe and PRIDELANDS SHODU took 2nd place Siamese Sable Junior Buck.

September 18th, 2006
PRIDELANDS FRISCO takes Best of Breed at the Puyallup State Fair in Puyallup, WA.  PRIDELANDS FONTANA takes Best Opposite Sex of Breed.

September 9th & 10th, 2006
PRIDELANDS MADRID takes 2 Best of Breeds and  PRIDELANDS HAIKU takes 2 Best of Breeds at the Cowachian Exhibition on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.  PRIDELANDS RIPLEY takes 2 Best Opposite Sex of Breeds and PRIDELANDS FRISCO takes 2 Best Opposite Sex of Breeds.  All four of these rabbits are from our Tabasco/Sinjin/Guiness line of Tort Lionheads which continues to show the consistancy we get from this line of PrideLands rabbits.

June 10th, 2006
PRIDELANDS CADENCE takes another Best of Breed at the WSHLRC Show in Graham, WA and PRIDELANDS BEGHERA takes yet another Best Opposite Sex of Breed from the Senior Buck class.   We could not be happier with the way our Lionheads have competed this season.  Thank you to judge, Jennifer Milburn, who took the time to evaluate our Lionheads :)

Lisa Brown (PA) reports to us that PRIDELANDS SYBOONE took Best of Breed at the Broome County Rabbit Breeders show in NY over the weekend.  Congratulations Lisa and Syboone!

June 9th, 2006
IT'S OFFICIAL!!!!! BLUE IS NOW A COD COLOR!!!  Theresa's application to the ARBA Standards Committee to change out two of her COD colors has been approved.  Her original colors included Black, Chestnut, Tort, Siamese Sable, and Orange.  She has now officially dropped Orange and Siamese Sable from her COD and added Ruby-Eyed White and Blue!  We are very excited about this change as Black is a very strong variety for us and we've incorporated a strong dilution gene in our Black lines.  So wish us luck as we go forward with these new colors as part of our COD should presentation rights fall to us.  Keep in mind this change DOES mean that Orange is no longer a COD color.  However the drop of Siamese Sable does not affect that color since Gail Gibbons still has that color on her current COD.  So Siamese Sable is still a viable color if Gail goes forward with presenting it.

May 30th, 2006
We just heard from Lisa Brown (PA) that PRIDELANDS SYBOONE (6th place Tort Jr Buck at 2006 NALRC Nationals) took 1st place in the Tort Junior Buck class at the Berks County Show on May 20th.  Congratulations, Lisa!  We hope SYBOONE proves as much an asset to your breeding program and continued success showing!

May 28th & 29th, 2006
PRIDELANDS PAPRIKA takes two more BOB wins in Show A and C in Hamilton, Montana over Memorial Weekend.  PRIDELANDS CADENCE repeats her BOB win from last weekend in Show B in Hamilton!  We are thrilled to announce HAT TRICK's FLAME took BOB in the D Show.  FLAME is a beautiful little tort doe we picked up from Nikki Stetson of HATTRICK RABBITRY at the National Show in Ohio.  We are very excited about adding this beautiful little girl to our program :)  PRIDELANDS MIDAS (brother to PAPRIKA and CADENCE) took BOSB in show C.  PRIDELANDS BEGHERA takes 3 BOSB wins from the Senior Buck class in show A, B, & D.

May 20th, 2006
PRIDELANDS PAPRIKA takes BOB at the Canby, Oregon A show under judge Tom Keyes.  PRIDELANDS COCONUT (now owned by Nita Shannon of Legendary Lionheads) took BOSB from the Senior Doe class!  Congratulations Nita!  In the B show, under judge Uno Kivi of Utah, PRIDELANDS CADENCE (PAPRIKA'S sister) took BOB.  Jason and Kadie Foss took BOSB in this show.  Congratulations Kadie & Jason!

May 13th, 2006
We just heard from Becky and Jeremy Armstrong today that PRIDELANDS GALLANT took a Best of Breed for them in his first show out for them since they purchased him at Nationals.  Congratulations!!!

May 7th, 2006
PRIDELANDS PAPRIKA takes BEST OPPOSITE SEX OF BREED
at the 2006 Ohio State Mini Convention Show!
Although not as large a show as the NALRC National Show, the Ohio State Convention show had a nice turn out this year for the day after Nationals show.  I've not officially heard how many were entered/shown, but there were several very nice size classes.  Definitely larger than most local shows :)  PAPRIKA took 1st place Fawn Junior Doe and Best of Variety Fawn before winning the Best Opposite Sex of Breed honors under judge Eric Stewart.  She was also one of our does from our Statler Award entry that took 2nd place the day before in the National show.

PAPRIKA's brother, PRIDELANDS MIDAS took 1st place Fawn Junior Buck and Best Opposite of Variety and her half sister, PRIDELANDS TUMERIC took 1st place Fawn Senior DoePRIDELANDS BAYARD took 1st place Black Senior Buck and PRIDELANDS GALLANT took 2nd place Tort Senior Buck. PRIDELANDS KOKOMO took 1st place Tort Senior Doe and PRIDELANDS ARUBA took 5th place Tort Senior Doe.  All these wonderful placings certainly made the long trip to fly out to Ohio for the weekend worth all the hassle :)  We had some great judges who were familiar with the breed and willing to spend time giving quality comments, so this was very refreshing and rewarding!

CONGRATULATIONS go out again to Kadie and Jason Foss on their BEST OF BREED win with KP's American Idol....a tort junior buck from their winning entry into the Statler Breeders Class the previous day at the National Show!!  CONGRATULATIONS, Kadie & Jason!!  Well deserved!

May 6th, 2006
PRIDELANDS ARUBA takes BEST OF BREED
at the 2006 NALRC National Exhibition Show!!
The show was held in Columbus Ohio and had an entry of over 650 rabbits, but I believe it was just over 400 rabbits that were actually shown (a lot of scratches).  PRIDELANDS ARUBA took 1st place Tort Senior Doe, Best of Variety Tort, and Best Senior Tort under judge Eric Bengston.  She then went on to take Best of Breed and Best Senior in Show under judge Todd Naragon.  What a HUGE honor to have had her picked not only by one judge that day, but by TWO judges.

PRIDELANDS KOKOMO took 5th place Tort Senior Doe and PRIDELANDS GALLANT took 4th place Tort Senior BuckPRIDELANDS BAYARD took 1st place Black Senior Buck and his brother, PRIDELANDS BEGHERA took 2nd place Black Senior BuckPRIDELANDS TUMERIC took 2nd place Orange Senior Doe.  Overall a very nice showing for our PRIDELANDS Senior Lionheads several of which were large classes which were very deep in type.  We wish the new owners of Gallant (Jeremy and Becky Armstrong, KS) and Bayard (Renee Bowen, TX) continued success in their showing and breeding careers with their new purchases from PRIDELANDS!

The brother/sister pair of PRIDELANDS SYBOONE and PRIDELANDS PACE placed well in their junior classes as well.  SYBOONE took 6th out of  37 Tort Junior Bucks and PACE took 8th out of 43 Tort Junior Does.  We hope they continue to show well for their new owners, Lisa Brown and Dawn Guth.

PRIDELANDS also entered one entry into the JoAnn Statler Memorial Breeders Challenge.  PRIDELANDS won this award last year with an entry by PRIDELANDS TABASCO.   This is a class that is judged on the overall consistency in which the offspring are meeting the qualifications set forth by the Working Standard.  Our entry this year was in the name of PRIDELANDS GUINESS, a PRIDELANDS TABASCO son.  Guiness was part of our original Statler entry that won at the 2005 NALRC National show.  This year our entry took a very respectible 2nd place out of over 10 entries in this class.  Included in our entry were PRIDELANDS ARUBA (BOB 2006 NALRC National Show), PRIDELANDS KOKOMO (5th place Tort Senior Doe), PRIDELANDS TUMERIC (multiple BOB/BOS winner), and PRIDELANDS PAPRIKA (BOS 2006 Ohio Mini Convention Show).

A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS also goes out to Kadie and Jason Foss who won Best Opposite Sex of Breed in the 2006 NALRC National Show with their hot little Chestnut buck, KP's Cracker Jack.  They also won the 1st place in the JoAnn Statler Memorial Breeders Class with an entry out of a hot little black doe, KP's Aphrodite.  Her entry in this class was sired by PRIDELANDS SAMURAI, a PRIDELANDS TABASCO half brother....again showing the consistancy in type coming out of the Tabasco bloodlines :)  We couldn't be more happy for Kadie and Jason to have won these honors!  Congratulations guys!!!

April 23rd, 2006
PRIDELANDS KOKOMO takes BOB at the Bremerton, WA show under judge Cindy Wickizer in the B Show and BOS under judge Karen Lovett in the A Show.  Both wins are from the senior class and we couldn't be more thrilled with the way this beautiful doe is turning out!

April 3rd, 2006
It's OFFICIAL!!!  We will be attending the 2006 Lionhead National Show in Columbus, Ohio.  For those of you who didn't know, we've been waiting on pins and needles to see if we'd be able to attend.  Theresa's family was considering a potential job change for her husband that may have interferred with their plans to attend the show.  We finally got the word today that this isn't going to happen and that both Theresa and Cheryl will be able to attend the show.  We are so excited and are now beginning to consider our entries as well as our potential sale animals :)  We'll keep the website updated with news as we know which we are selling/showing!

April 1st, 2006
PRIDELANDS BEGHERA took BOB at the WSHLRC show in Kent, WA under judge Todd Naragon today.  Todd will be judging the upcoming Lionhead National show in Ohio, so it was fun to see how his interpretation of the new standardand how our Lionheads stacked up.  I

March 18th, 2006
PRIDELANDS GALLANT (TGC2) took BOB at the Emerald Empire RBA Show in Eugene, Oregon under judge Vern Pamblad.  GALLANT is a son of PRIDELANDS TABASCO (winner of the Statler Award at the 2005 Nationals).  His dam is DJ's California Girl (full sister to Maki Bear, the high selling Lionhead in the 2005 National auction and FireBear daughter).  PRIDELANDS TUMERIC took BOS.  It was a nice show with over 20 Lionheads entered.

PRIDELANDS TUMERIC takes BOB at the Frozen Friends A Show in St. Helens, Oregon under judge Randy Schumaker.  PRIDELANDS ZORRO took BOSB in both the A and B Shows.  Congratulations to Nita Shannon who took BOB in the B Show with her adorable blue tort junior doe out of PrideLands Abigail and PrideLands Tippen.

October 29th, 2005
We've just returned from yet another great ARBA Convention.  The Indy club did a GREAT job.  The isles were finally wide enough that people could actually function rather than bumping into people every time you turned around.  And as always it was great to see friends that we only get to see a couple times a year.  This is what makes the Convention a treasured experience for Cheryl and I.

Unfortunately Cheryl and I had to attend our Holland Lop Awards Banquet, so we were unable to watch the Lionhead show at Convention Wednesday night.  A HUGE thank you to Dawn Guth for making sure our 3 Lionheads made it to the show table.  PRIDELANDS MATADOR  took 1ST Black Senior Buck and BEST OF VARIETY.  PRIDELANDS FIGI took 1st Tort Senior Doe.  PRIDELANDS SISTINE (now living w/ Nikki Stetson in PA) took 2nd Place Sable Point Junior Doe.  These are the only three Lionheads that PRIDELANDS took to show, so we couldn't be happier with their placings.  There were 119 Lionheads shown in the show.

Congratulations to Arden Wetzel to in addition to getting the Tort Variety passed their First Presentation, also took BOB in the Lionhead Exhibition show at Convention.  What a HUGE accomplishment and successful weekend for Arden!  Way to go Arden!  Keep up the great work!

October 26th, 2005
Arden Wetzel passes 1st presentation on the Tort Lionhead!
Although only Tort passed (Black, Chestnut, Siamese Sable, & REW did not pass), Arden was able to once again work on getting changes made to his working standard that should make it more true to what we are seeing after several years of working with this unique and challenging breed.   We are very excited about these new changes.  They will be published as soon as Arden has final approval of the changes from the standards committee.

October 1st, 2005
PrideLands Figi wins Best of Breed from the Senior Class at the NWRB Show in Monroe, Washington.  PrideLands Matador takes Best Opposite Sex of Breed also from the Senior Class.  We couldn't be more happy with the way these two animals are developing.  PrideLands Figi also took Best Opposite Sex of Breed in the second show under Cindy Wickizer with PrideLands Hot Stuff taking Best of Breed from the tort junior buck class.

September 25th, 2005
PrideLands Lyric has her first litter!!!  Unfortunately it was a singleton peanut :(  We have fostered 4 Holland babies to her, so she's able to get the experience of raising a litter and we'll be re-breeding her when they wean off.  We were hoping to be able to take her to Convention with us, but she did pull out much of her bib with this litter, so until it comes back in she'll be out of commission for showing for awhile.

August 22nd, 2005
Cheryl and I have finally had a chance to get together to go over our most recent litters and compile a sales list for the ARBA Convention in Indianapolis, IN in October.  We were very selective on what we included on our sales list.  We do NOT sell every kit from every litter.  We've been breeding Holland Lops for almost 15  years.  Not EVERY kit in EVERY Holland litter is show or even breeding quality, why would we expect that from a breed as new and challenging as the Lionhead breed.  Consequently, Cheryl and I are extremely selective in what we include on our sales list.  Every kit on the list is of a quality we ourselves would use in our own program and hope will benefit other programs.  We will be circulating our sales list to people who have asked to be on our waiting list before we post the list to our website.  We hope to have worked through the waiting list by next week.  Please feel free to inquire if you'd like to be added to our waiting list.  Otherwise the sales list should be posted to the website by sometime next week.

July 9th, 2005

PrideLands Lyric does it again!!  Her 6th BOB win in only 6 showings!!
PrideLands Qajar took another BOS as well.  Cannot wait until these two are old enough to enter our breeding program!

June 29th, 2005
A copy of the ARDEN'S NEW REVISED 2005 WORKING STANDARD is now available on the PRIDELANDS WEBSITE. Click HERE to view/print it.  Arden recieved confirmation back from the ARBA Standard Commitee on June 6th, 2005 that they have accepted the revisions he requested at the Rhode Island ARBA Convention.  They also approved his inclusion of several line drawings to help clarify questions about stance and flank wool.  A HUGE thank you to Kadie Foss for all her time and dedication to working on the drawings for the standard.  This was a huge project that took a lot of time from a mom w/ two young children.  THANK YOU, KADIE!!  Please note that this is now the official proposed working standard for Lionheads in the US.  This IS the standard you should be using when showing Lionheads in the US.  Please also note that I have included all 8 varieties on the link off the PRIDELANDS website for showing purposes ONLY.  Arden will NOT present in 8 varieties!  He will only present in the 5 varieties listed on his COD (chestnut, black, tort, rew, siamese sable).  The additional 3 varieties (sable point, orange, & fawn) are varieties included on subsequent CODs issued by the ARBA.

JUNE 10TH, 2005
PRIDELANDS LYRIC (AL2) accomplishes two additional BEST OF BREED wins at the WSHLRC Shows in Graham, WA.  One of which was under NALRC National Show judge, Scott Weibensohn.  That makes a total of 3 BEST OF BREED wins for PRIDELANDS LYRIC.

MAY 23RD, 2005
Newly acquired purchases from the National Show have completed their 3 week quarrantine and shot sequence and are now cleared to be used in the PrideLands breeding program.   We are especially excited to see how Basset's Alabaster III (sable point buck) and Bastet's Hans Solo (siamese sable buck) cross with our current Lionhead herd.  Look for their first litters to hit the nestboxes in June and July.  We expect these tiny shaded bucks to be the foundation to an expanded PrideLands shaded color program.

MAY 21ST, 2005
PRIDELANDS LYRIC (AL2) wins her first BEST OF BREED at the Crazy Eights Show in Canby, Oregon.

APRIL 30TH, 2005
Cheryl and Theresa attended the NARLC National Exhibition Show in Columbus, Ohio.  We showed only 9 rabbits, 7 of which placed in the top 5 of their classes.  These placings included:

SECOND PLACE BEST DISPLAY with 630 points!!!
A huge accomplishment considering the other top 4 BEST DISPLAY breeders accrued points from 11-17 rabbits.  PrideLand's BEST DISPLAY points were earned from only 5 rabbits placing well and/or winning in some of the largest classes in the show.

PRIDELANDS MULAN (#TK5) - Best Junior in Show, Best of Variety Black, 1st place in class of 16

PRIDELANDS SYRA (#TMY6) - Best of Variety Tort, 1st place in class of 42 (largest class in show!)

PRIDELANDS MYRNA (#TMY7) - 3rd place in class of 42

PRIDELANDS TJ (#TJ) - 2nd place Chestnut Jr Buck in class of 15

PRIDELANDS QAJAR (#OG1) - 2nd place Black Jr Buck in class of 24 (second largest class in show!)
As wonderful as all these wins were for us, our biggest honor came when we won the JOANN STATLER BREEDERS CHOICE MEMORIAL CLASS!!  This class was an entry of 4 offspring of PRIDELANDS TABASCO.  It included PRIDELANDS SYRA, PRIDELANDS MYRNA, PRIDELANDS SITKA, & PRIDELANDS GUINNESS.  The class is intended to show the consistency in offspring of one sire or dam.  So winning this award was a huge honor for us and testament to the quality of offspring that PRIDELANDS TABASCO is producing.  Although he's a young buck, he's been a huge asset to our breeding program and we look forward to continued great offspring out of "Baz".  He's a TUBORG great grandson, so we continue to see TUBORG stamp his mark on our herd several generations after his passing.

Needless to say we were VERY pleased with how our rabbits competed at this large prestigious show!
